    I LOVED Yongfoo Elite…. though the tea was all I could afford! My friends looked at me cross-eyed and thought we were being kidnapped on the way here but we made it to this beautiful secret-garden, funky-China-Grandma, fairy-land kind of place… I especially loved the flocked wallpaper! Only sad part was no Jackie Chan sighting :( :(

    But Garance, of course this is what 3 o’clock tea time in Shanghai would be! Would there be English Breakfast in Shanghai without the violence of British conquest? I mean, not to mention, there are absolutely no tea plantations in the UK. Where then does our glorious tea come from, if not from our colonies? Perhaps, we should note the extreme beauty that only makes sense alongside extreme violence. Could there be one without the other? Your photos are glorious.

    Garance si tu aimes vraiment le thé, la prochaine fois va dans une vraie maison de Thé et fais l’expérience de le déguster dans ces minuscules théières, en découvrant à chaque fois une nouvelle saveur ! C’est un rituel méditatif et gustatif génial ! Rien que la tasse prouve à quel point il y a quelque chose de « fake » dans cet endroit …

    the Old City is one of the place to go for a traditional tea ceremony. it only costs like 3 euros but its crowded and full of tourists.
    hope u had a good time there. im not chinese at all but I lived in Sh 2months and I loved it.
