Pour faire 1 manteau de fourrure, il faut :

6 – 8 veaux
6 – 8 pumas
6 – 8 poulains
6 – 10 phoques
8 – 12 lynxs
10 – 12 blaireaux
10 – 16 loutres
10 – 20 renards
12 – 18 ocelots
15 – 20 chiens
16 – 22 chats sauvages
20 – 30 kangourous
20 – 30 chats domestiques
25 – 45 agneaux
26 – 34 ragondins
30 – 40 ratons laveurs
30 – 70 visons
45 – 55 putois
50 – 60 martres
60 – 70 zibelines
60 – 70 moufettes
30 – 200 chinchillas
200 – 400 écureuils

A noter qu’aucune pièce de fourrure n’est produite sans douleurs et souffrance pour l’animal.

J’ose espérer qu’au 21ème siècle, il est tout à fait possible d’être passionné par la mode et de boycotter la fourrure.
C’est dommage car j’aime beaucoup beaucoup votre blog.
Mais de vous lire louer à ce point les bienfaits de ces nippes de dépouilles, ça me refroidit un peu.. :/

In college I loved getting vintage fur coats where the previous owners had their name embroidered in the inside lining. I’m not sure when that’s from but it’s very glamourous.

Nice to hear you are in NY. The snow storm was supposedly forecast for this past weekend…but will definitely hit the city on Wednesday.
Totally random that you posted two days about fur coats! After looking at the weather report for the week, I’ve scheduled an article for tomorrow about staying chic under heavy snow haha…you must enjoy Sonia Rikyel’s fur coat from F/W RTW ‘08.
