I’ll be your mirror
A few days from now, I’ll be a personal shopper. The Printemps, a famous department store in Paris, invited me to be their personal shopper for a day. Immediately, I said yes. It’s the kind of job I’ve always dreamt of.
sweet little angel
Last time I was at the flea market looking for Farrah Fawcett posters, I came across a booth stock full of the craziest pairs of shorts.
They had every size and color you could imagine, all for 10 bucks and I bought ‘em all up (that’s totally why my wardrobe fell over on my face, but that’s a whole other story). I was sure all my friends would each love a pair.
Don’t think twice !
Garance : Okay, so Mélinda, tell me… You are one of the best dressed women I know. You ALWAYS know where to get the best finds in Paris… Where the hell can you find those damned studded Chloé boots from last year? WHERE!?!!? I’m desperate. Two mojitos, please.
Mélinda : Oh you just shutup. This topic is off limits. I DON’T KNOW. I was doing a little of my own detective work to find them. BUT I CAN’T FIND THEM ANYWHERE.

It looks like we’re all going to want fantasy tights this winter. Even Carine Roitfeld! She said so in the video that came with last month’s Paris Vogue. Yes, even her, who would rather freeze than cover her legs suddenly has a pressing need for a pair of plumetis spotty tights.

So we probably won’t be seeing her any time soon in tights with big hearts on ‘em, but I love people who are opened to changing their mind! Off we go, I gotta run! Bonne journée!

Don’t tell me you don’t see it !
You remember last time we were talking about hair? I told you that despite my desire to change color, which I have NEVER DONE IN MY LIFE, seeing as I lack the necessary discipline and therefore risk the threat of two inch roots, I always leave my hair long, free, wavy and natural, natural, natural.
Liar.
Blame it on my youth
One thing I loved about Amsterdam: Women just knew how to age well. In the week I spent over there, not one time did I see those surrealistic masks made by plastic surgery.
It would be a lot better if I talked you about something else while showing you this photo of Lous. Perhaps her grace, her kindness, her energy. Journalist, photographer, opera singer and queen of the Dutch fashion world, I would have a lot more things to say.
But she’s a perfect example that at any age, you can reinvent your life, that at every age you can be open, engaged, radiant and passionate. Sophisticated and natural. And be quite the dish too!
