There’s something really interesting going on in style in Florence. It’s a place called Luisa. It’s is a multi-designer boutique that’s been on the Via Roma for two generations. When you get inside, you find a very distilled selection featuring edgy designers and couture pieces to fall for. It’s not exactly what you’d expect from the Florentine cliental, really chic but not exactly ready-to-wear like à la Mark Fast or anything. So… What’s the secret?
Luisa’s secret is it’s online store, Luisa Via Roma. The site is a good example of internet success. It’s known by fashionistas the world over. Voilà. I’m not going to write you a thesis, but I think it’s cool that the internet brings style to life outside of the world capitals.
So quick. There I am, blissing out on Manish Arora’s awesomely flashy collection when I see a tall thin girl, wearing blood-red patterned tights and boots that exist somewhere between thigh-high land and Wonderland, and I think to myself that her insane view on style reminds of me something.
And then suddenly I recognize her: It’s the same girl I saw on that London train wearing sex-shop garb.
Et voilà! Ania is the assistant buyer for Luisa Via Roma, Silvano. She has the coolest style, body conscious and fun, always with a detail that’s “a little too much.” A little too bright, patterned, or clashy. I love that she’ll put it together with some chic sportswear.
You know what though, she’s a little more toned down in these photos than usual. But she told me we’re in for a treat during fashion week… And that’s she definitely going to let loose! And are you going to have your dog with you as well? Cool!

Non mais elle est géniale cette fille j-aime beaucoup son côté sage mais déjanté en même temps. Et je suis folle de sa veste style mouton retourné de la deuxieme photo elle est trop belle! Enfin je dis une veste mais peut etre dit on un manteau ?(je n’ai jamais vrai compris la différence!)

On dirait qu’elle est en équilibre, sur le fil très fin qui sépare le chic ultime, l’audace dans l’élégance, du ridicule too much.
Elle marche du bon côté mais délimite la frontière invisible (que je franchis si souvent, pauvre mortelle).
Bravo !
Evidemment que le fait qu’elle soit belle et grande et fine fait que les bornes sont plus éloignées pour elle… et alors ? C’est logique et normal.
On a toute notre idée de jusqu’où on peut aller et jusqu’où on aime voir les autres aller…
Et bien j’aime où va Ania sous ton objectif, Garance ma fée.

Oh mon dieu ces chaussures vertes, j’adore! Un style tout à fait particulier, et qui correspond tellement à l’idée que je me fais de la mode. Et puis ces yeux sont aussi incroyables, avec le manteau. Bon donc là je pars à la recherche de chaussures vertes, c’est dit!

C’est drôle parce qu’elle a un visage très classique et un peu timide (la ressemblance avec J. Connelly moui moui moui) mais le coup des pompes vert fluo et du legging de Jem’s et les hologrammes c’est un ensemble qui projette en avant la personnalité forte de la fille quand même.
Bref j’essaie de faire des phrases compliquées juste pour dire qu’elle dépote cette fille quoi.

Garance – that shop is AMAZING!!!! Just a pity an outfit works out to R20,000 (2000 euro) :-( if I ever get to visit the country i will include a visit to Luisa Via Roma in my itinerary!! and probably end up spending all my travel money there ;-)

I used to live in Florence, and whenever it was raining or if I was just having one of those days Luisa Via Roma always cheered me up, even though I couldn’t afford the clothes. They have the most inventive window displays — I must have photographed the exterior countless times. I still have a postcard from the store from around ‘96. Che nostalgia!

the photo of the girl with the bulldog is amazing: the girl’s combination of the classic, neutral color trench with the pop color leggings is brilliantly executed and the photo itself are exquisitely executed!
My favorite trench is Burberry’s lavender one that was displayed at the Met’s Costume Institute ‘Anglomania” exhibit in 2006. Sadly, I have never found one that sits right on me. Is 5′11″ and lanky the wrong frame for a trench? This is inspiring me to find a perfect trench coat for Spring 2010!

Now I want to hunt for a trench that actually looks good on me. Is 5′11″ and lanky not a good trench coat body type? Il y a quelques jours de cela je vais chez mon optitien favori “Krys” pour changer de lunettes et choisis un petit modèle noir, simple mais chic. Aujourd’hui en passant devant la vitrine du magasin, je reste stupéfaite devant des modèles de lunettes signés Garance Doré, au bord de pleurer en voyant un modèle similaire à celui que j’ai acheté quelques jours plus tôt et dégoutée d’avoir en plus loupé le cadeau-sac-déssiné-par-Garance !
A part ça cette fille est sublime et j’aime j’aime j’aime ses talons fluos !

Il y a des gens qui, miraculeusement ont cette façon de s’approprier des vêtements impossibles. Quand j’ai regardé, je n’ai même pas tiqué sur les leggings multicolores. Sur tout autre personne, je l’aurais fait, je crois, mais en les voyant c’était naturel et je les voulais. Cette fille. Je sais pas. Je comprends pas, elle, elle comprend comment faire. C’est pourquoi j’aime, quoi. En somme, très belles photos.
