Three days in Shanghai, my first three days in China, my first three days in Asia, and in three days, you can barely skim the surface. You take your eyes off the buildings just long enough to realize you’re completely lost. Probably happens when you try to explain to the taxi driver where you’re trying to go.
I met MiaoMiao and Mocca on The Bund just off the impressive and amazing Shanghai skyline. They both spoke perfect English and know fashion like the palms of their hands. We even had the same favorite designers, the same sense of humor, and the same dreams. They were so welcoming, they right away wanted to show me their city, and then share it with me.
It’s reassuring and at the same time, puzzling, how all the edges of the world seem to resemble one another.
I’ve gotta go back soon, and for a longer stay to dive in deeper.
