Noir
I want to talk to you about black in summer. When the temp gets up there and you can show a little skin, I think wearing some black is super pretty.
For this one, it had to be Kristin, she has such a great style, 100% black, with her charcoal eyes and her long vail of hair, all the way down to her Demeulemeester boots that, pfffffffff, I’ve been looking for in pair in natural leather in a size 8 1/2 for a month!
The only thing is that in the midst of this sweltering afternoon, we heard a large crackle, and the heavens opened above us (you like my sense of drama?)(that is to say, it was raining). Pouring rain kept coming down, warm drops with the wind turning around itself, and so my pictures sort of lost that sweltering sun + black effect that I was looking for. It was more of a gust + black effect, totally a new meteorological-fashion concept, you’ll agree.
In the end, I liked it just fine.

Oui ! I do love your sense of drama! That description sounds truly beautiful. Also : I thought I had walked away from the idea of noir as something I’d do, but, well, looks like I’ll have to re-reconsider this, especially if I get to experience warm rain drops on my pale skin in the summer. Oui.

I love the second picture which shows her back – and bag! The chain of the Chanel really pops. I never understood why black in the summer is not appreciated by so many people. It is nice to see someone like you are here to back al the gals who agree with us up!

For me, summer means colors, brigs, light, funny, crazy colours!
It can be fine in the evening but I would rather go with white (especially if you are suntanned)

c’est vrai, le noir sur une peau bronzée, c’est ideal… C’est pourquoi je prefere les chaussures sombres aux chaussures blanches (les chaussures blanches sur peau très bronzée, j’ai du mal…). Le noir ça capte la chaleur aussi… mais si le tissu est léger…

J’adore le contraste entre cette peau diaphane et le noir… En ce qui me concerne, l’été est au contraire la saison où j’ose plus la couleur (c’est relatif, hein…). Quant aux sandales, ben celles de Surface to Air sont un peu plus fines, mais restent dans l’esprit, non, si tu ne parviens pas à trouver celles-ci en cuir naturel ?

Absolutely beautiful, these pictures, thank you. I like the fact that in a couple of them behind the hair there is little to see besides eyes… despite the wild lifting effect the wind produces, there is something of a burka effect which I find fascinating against the bare skin.

I love black, not going to lie. I say this while wearing a black and white romper and a black sweater. Black works for whenever, and you can really make it work with neutrals and lights for summer, or by just wearing little summery black pieces as you mention! Its so funny that you posted this, because I live in Los Angeles and obviously the sun shines here quite often, and I sometimes wonder if black is appropriate during the summer or should I just save it for the “Winter” months. But you are absolutely right, Black is very pretty in the sun, and your photographs really show just how beautiful it can be.

Just a quick note to say if you really want the Demeulemeester boots, they have it at browns.com, but only in 37, but they run 1 size big, mine is 35 and I’m a 36 1/2. Anyway they are life changing and sooooo worth it simply because you will wear them to DEATH!!!
