Amfar : Facts & Iphone Pictures
- The AmFar Gala is a charity gala. The idea is to bring together the world’s beautiful people of fashion and cinema for an auction to benefit AIDS research. Items for bid range from Warhol, to a tennis holiday with the Prince of Monaco. You could say it’s just a good conscience gala, but it’s much more than that. Oh, and even though I didn’t have my camera, once there I was taken by the glamour of the gala and couldn’t help taking a few Iphone pictures. There we go :

Emerald
This is the bracelet that Chopard lent me for the AmFar gala*.
They’re emeralds and I think it’s the most beautiful thing that I’ve ever been given to wear. The most precious. I picked it out because it reminded me of vintage jewelry. I love the light color of the emeralds, their cut… And I thought they looked really damn good with my dress.**
What cracks me up though is that just like Cinderella, with the jewels comes a body guard as well, as you would imagine…

It was awesome, to see Anja in Cannes in the midst of all the glamour and evening gowns with her worn jean shorts and her Isabel Marant jacket.
She got there just the day before, just in time for the Amfar gala where she presented the shoes that Zanotti created for Chopard, and after a flight delay, she ended up arriving super late. She had to change in the airport bathroom and do her hair and makeup in the car. But no worries, when she arrived on scene, she was perfect. A real pro…

Stop.) when the italian model Eva Riccobono stopped by to try on some clothes…
I particularly liked that jumpsuit-micro-shorts-maxi-shirt that you can wear only in Cannes for a boat pool party :-)

Going up the red carpet is something that can change a career. Having to show up in front of hundreds of photographers screaming your name is a kind of weird barometer of your celebrity… well, let’s just say it’s not a moment where you want to miss on your outfit.
But let me tell you that, in Cannes, everything is organized around it. Hairdressers, make up artists and stylists are walking around the hotels like crazy, and each couture house has a suite full of fantastic evening gowns. Jewels are the final touch. What is funny is that when jewels are handed to you, they come with a bodyguard…
