“The sketch is of me, it’s by Miles Aldridge. I met him in December at Art Basel in Miami. He was having a show of some of his photography and I interviewed him for WWD.
We talked about his process with his work: it’s very cinematic, he usually draws the shots out beforehand in these beautiful sketches (some of which you can see in his last book, ’Pictures for Photographs’).

Oh! je pense avoir compris, c’est le dessin sur la couverture du livre qui est le portrait de la femme sur la photo, c’est pour cela que tu as coupé sa tête! hé ben ça m’a pris du temps…
Ce dessin me rappelle (un peu) Cocteau.
Par ailleurs, belles couleurs et beaux bijoux.
Pour protéger le livre rien de tel que les fameuses couvertures transparente que nos momans nous fabriquaient à chaque rentrée !
Je crois qu’être croqué par un artiste mâle ( ou femelle selon ses penchants) est un geste d’une intensité érotique et poétique rares. Aaah j’entends déja les commentaires genre “Nan mais pfff elle est perdue sur la route qui mène à la lune celle-là”! Que nenni, remember Kate Winslet croquée par Leonardo Di Caprio dans Titanic…D’accord elle était nue devant lui dans cette scène, ça ajoute peut-être un peut d’intensité dans le geste. BREF, j’adore le témoignage d’Allessandra et la photo est magnifique.

Les bijoux sont très jolis.
Pour protéger sa couverture (ce qu’on comprend aisément !!!) Alessandra devrait peut être y appliquer un film protecteur, pas que l’on colle mais plutôt quelque chose qu’on vaporise, si cela existe…

You can protect the book cover with a mylar book jacket — just get a sheet of clear mylar, cut it down to the height of the book, and then wrap it around, folding it under the covers so it will stay put. No need to use any tape or anything sticky to hold it in place, adhesives tend to destroy books.

Bonjour Garance!
Pour protéger les dessins faits au crayon (mais aussi au fusain ou au pastel), il faut vaporiser du fixatif en aérosol, qui s’achète en magasin de fournitures beaux-arts ou loisirs créatifs.
Ne pas hésiter à vaporiser abondamment et en plusieurs couches, dehors de préférence ou fenêtre ouverte, à 20-30 cm du support. Le rendu est invisible et ton dessin ne bougera pas.
Je te déconseille le vernis ou la laque, qui jauniront avec le temps.

Love your work! One solutions for framing, are the shadow boxes that have a front hinged door and magnetic closure…they come in several sizes perfect for displaying a book…just a thought! :)
