I met Laila at Daphne’s where she was cooking for about 15 people, and I immediately loved her style. Her presence, the way she was chatting and making jokes while cooking and taking one wonderful dish after the other out of the oven without even looking like she was actually busy. At that time she was cooking for friends and was a culinary writer.

That was a few months ago and since then, she launched her company, Sunday Supper. She cooks for events or private parties and I run into her at the Farmers Market at Union Square, with her giant wicker baskets and her strawberry Converse.

I thought right after fashion week, it would be good to go back to the kitchen, no ?

Signed: Garance, the girl still trying to convince the world that she’s cooking.
