Miami Vice

As I’m writing you now, I’m still in Miami. The weather is perfect. The birds are singing and I’m laying out…
…On my bed, where I’m fighting a raging fever that’s been attacking me since last night.

Pffffff.

You know when you try EVERYTHING to rest and relax but EVERYTHING gets in your way?

Yep, that pretty much sums up our weekend in Miami :

CFDA

Yesterday, I had the huge surprise of learning that Scott and I won the CFDA Eugenia Sheppard Media Award.

It’s such an honor.

First, to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for such a distinguished prize that some of my idols have won in the past – Cathy Horyn, Suzy Menkes, and Bruce Weber, for example. But also because for the first time, the prize is being awarded to bloggers. It’s so meaningful. Media is changing and fashion has opened its doors to the Internet.

Blow Up !

Now that you’ve pretty much seen me in 3D in all the videos, you can’t say that I don’t have problems.

… with my hair, that is.

No, but you get it. I want to take you everywhere with me, so I make little videos and you see me the entire time. I manage to put together some outfits that are more or less camera-ready… But goodness, what the heck is going on with that bun?!

You think I didn’t notice?

That bun has a life of its own. READ MORE

Pardon My French, Paris #3 : Women !

Here I am, back at home and all fresh after 754 hours sleep this weekend, and here is the second to last episode of Pardon My French of the season.

We’ll talk about shoes, about hair, about fashion, about femininity and about girls time, and I’ll meet with Charlotte Dellal and with Corinne Bailey Rae as she gets ready for the Miu Miu show.

All right! Let me know what you think, and big kisses!

PS : I think I have got an addiction to the word “wonderful”. Don’t even try to count how many times I say it in that episode, it’s just ridiculous !! Advertisement

Pardon My French/Hey Ladies!

Here’s the last New York episode of Pardon My French!

Take a look, there’s a lot going on. Everything from my ginger tea with Diane Von Furstenberg to a run-in with Julianne Moore, some lunch with friends in there and tons, tons, tooooooons of fashion. You’ll understand right away why we called this episode, “Hey Ladies!” :-)

Big hugs!

PS: I want to send a huge thank you to the entire team of Pardon My French who supported me and who I just love to death, especially PJ, to whom I send all my affection. A big thank you as well to Net-à-Porter for their support and to BMW for the car because we couldn’t have done all this in a taxi :-)

Pardon My French is also available on the Huffington Post USA and I want to thank the Stylelist team for their unwavering trust.Advertisement

Pardon My French/Episode 1

It’s quite simple, I just want to take you all over with me. I want to introduce you to all the people I love, talk about shows, share little intimate moments, talk about style, and the million other things that happen during fashion week.

And so voilà!!! I’m surrounded by some super fun and super funny people. We film, we stress, we laugh, we run every which way, we made every mistake possible while filming our pilot, and this is our first video.

The series is going to be called Pardon My French and it’ll be a little glimpse into my life as a Frenchie in New York.

Okay, off we go. Big hugs and I’ll be back oh so soon!

Garance Doré

I began my blog in June, 2006. I was an illustrator and growing frustrated – with the type of work I was getting, yes, but mostly frustrated because I wasn’t really connecting with the readers of the magazines I was working for. I wanted to do something a little more free, more spontaneous. I had ...
