Today, I want to republish – and to have it translated in english for the first time ! – that text I wrote in …2007, just before the big bun became my everyday classic !!! Kisses and have a wonderful Sunday!
I sometimes get the craziest fashion ideas that make their way into the deep back recesses of my virtual lookbook, full with platinum hair, florescent leggings, and Westons (actually, that’s been done). And sometimes, a little nugget from my sub-conscious fashion sense makes its way by accident into a drawing and reminds me of my crazy ideas of the past.
Sometimes all this makes its way into a party itself… Take for example our special Fuck Valentine’s Day party that we decided to rename (a little more modestly) It’s Complicated Party*. It’s a chic little affair** organized at the very chic Cé where the very chic Contessa gave me the chicest compliment saying “Wow, your hair looks so good when you let it down, Garance.” To which Jen thought it time to add, “Yeah, it looks way better than that protestant bun you always like to wear.” READ MORE
I for sure consider myself coming from a pretty low base camp when it comes to beauty (I wash my face with bar soap and I hold strong the thought that face creams are the same thing as ice creams – all the same, just with different scents), so I was super surprised by the passion with which I responded to the millions of questions that Lauren asked me for the Vanity column in the French Elle.
The number of products I use on a daily basis is crazy!!!

When the Elle Japan team snaps you for their streetstyle pages, they jump on you, shoot you as much as they can, ask you to describe ALL your accessories and write down every little detail. It’s a very serious business : in Japan there is a whole collection of magazines and books only dedicated to streetstyle. This season, they had prepared these little notebooks. Loved them. Kawaii !

Sunday, 4 pm, at the airport: Coming home again, happy, drunk on Spanish sun, I’m waiting for my suitcase having coffee and reading Elle. I’ve been waiting a while but no worries, I’m in an unbreakably good mood.
4:32 : Still waiting… Unbreakable, I said, an unbreakably good mood.

Don’t ask me what my titles means… No idea ! But what I do know, is that I am an unwavering fan of the many looks, full of humor, and the many ideas that Eva has. She’s a stylist and here, I caught her with her Vuitton ears (you remember on the runway?) in the middle of working on an editorial for Italian Elle.
Pretty cool for a work uniform, no?

And I right away thought of Claudia. These girls, not only do they already know how to do the pause, the look that just kills, but on top of that, they’ve found a solution of how to tone down a swooping neckline.

Because I remember last week, some were saying that a strapless dress was too difficult to wear. Hmmm…. Ha!
Okay, okaaaay? And the t-shirt!!!
I’m telling you girls, style is like life: if there isn’t a solution, it’s just that there isn’t a problem! Bunny bisous!

Wednesday, February 5th. It’s an early morning and I’m walking through icy Paris streets. For a few days now, I’ve been a little nervous. And here I am, only a few steps separate me from my shoot for Elle.
I remember the first meeting we had at the Elle office back in January… We all take our seats around a big table in a brightly lit room. The entire creative team is there. Ideas are coming from everywhere. There’s a lot of energy in the room, almost overly excited. I take a sip of my coffee to curb the urge to pinch myself just to be sure. Getting to go to a shoot for a fashion editorial: a dream come true. I never would have thought that my first would be with Elle. And that I would be the photographer.
