Garance Doré

TAG : photo

So I haven’t started shopping whatsoever. I’ve been literally locked up in my house (okay, when I wasn’t not surfing up in Montauk) because of a huge influx of work and a hurricane. And believe me I would love to : New York Fashion week starts next week!!! HELP.

The only thing that’s got me so far, I saw just below my apartment (while I was on my daily hunt for coffee, my life is so exciting) in the window at Devonshire Optical, a local eye doctor who has some cool stuff. And so what I saw are his totally bizarre sunglasses. They’re Elizabeth & James, the other Olsen twins brand that you all introduced me to last time around.

Needs a good trench, slip it right on and become instantly chic and undeniably cool.

Gaia Repossi

I was already a real fan of Gaia Repossi’s jewelry.

But since I met her I’ve been impressed by her drive, her vision for the family business of which she just became artistic director, and her desire to evolve the world of jewelry. Her collaborations with Alexander Wang and Joseph Altuzarra (just to name a couple) added a true fashion perspective that was lacking some at the Place Vendôme. All that, plus a doctorate in archeology, and a real talent for painting, and all before 25 years old!

I like that while taking this photo, she told me she wanted an image that showed her strength…

I don’t know if I succeeded in showing anything but her sweetness, but I was so excited to meet a girl who takes risks, looks for new forms of creation and never hides her desire to succeed.

Sea Of Chloé

I was in the middle of waiting for who knows what before the Chloé show Tuesday (at least I think it was Tuesday, in the post-fashion week state, I can’t be too sure.) (I’ve gotta tell you about my first day post fashion week, it is always oh so glamourous)(Yep, that’s me, the wreck in PJs on my couch at 6:56 p.m.)

So yeah, I was waiting for who knows what, which of course never arrived, when suddenly I realized that I was trapped in an ocean of Chloé.  All around me, everywhere, tons of ochre, beige, gold, camel, camel, camel…

We’re always welcomed at Chloé (that is to say, once you pass the bruiser of a mean mean bouncer with his face all red in front of the door – Youarenot Onthelist, I think that’s his name) by the delicious Chloettes (that’s almost as cute as Voguettes, no?)(No?) who are oh so adorable and clad head to do in Chloé.

Damned !!! It gives me so many shopping ideas. As if I needed more on that list…

Mmmmk, on that note my dear Dorettes, (What? That’s as cute as than Chloettes, no?)(No??)(EGO triiiiip !)(Oh man, this chick on my couch in her PJs is just blabbing on about NOTHING AT ALl!!!)(Raaaah, I’m gonna have another scoop of Nutella, that’ll do me some good right?)(No??) I send big hugs!

Star System

You recognize her, don’t you? It’s Anna Dello Russo, style icon to the extreme – here, in a Rochas jump suit and Valentino shoes (I have the same ones!!!) -, eccentric, adorable, appeared on The Sartorialist for the first time in 2006 and since became a fashion superstar via the internet.

If the rain comes…

Please, next time I tell you I am leaving for Milan in september, could you remind me that it’s not because it’s autumn that I have to load my luggage with winter clothes ?

I litteraly broke my suitcase to make things fit in, things I never wore : most of the time, it’s been 2000 degrees.

Ah, but for the two little days of rain we had, there, I was totally ready, I had everything, from the hat, the rain boots, the jacket and the wool pants… A little bit like Valentina on the picture with her Prada fishermans boots, but ten times warmer. Pffff.

Ok now I have to go, got to get ready to catch the train, the best way we found with Scott to slow time a little bit before Paris’ fashion week crazyness.

Ok. So, what’s the weather like in Paris ?

Flowers, Colors, Flowers!

Next spring is going to be super floral!!! We’ll talk about this more soon when I get the shots ready from some of my favorite shows here in Milan. But yeaaaah, we made some more videos!!!

In the meantime, meet Jazzmine. And I’ve gotta tell you something (because I just got back from Giovanna’s birthday and the Ferragamo rave party and my feet are killing me and I’m feeling those Sicilian Martinis still saying hello) but here: Jazzmine is her real first name.

Not but seriously. How cool is that?! See you oh so soon!

Garance Doré

I began my blog in June, 2006. I was an illustrator and growing frustrated – with the type of work I was getting, yes, but mostly frustrated because I wasn’t really connecting with the readers of the magazines I was working for. I wanted to do something a little more free, more spontaneous. I had ...
