Shopping / Les Miu Miu

I finally managed to leave my house, to see what’s happening in the shops. One of first things I did was rush to Miu Miu to try on these shoes – I adored them at the show.

Once there, of course, I started to doubt my choice because of the very rounded toe – and you how crazy I get with those shoe shapes! – even though that’s what I loved about them in the first place.

So I gave myself a little time to think about it.

So usually what happens is when I have time to return, there aren’t any shoes left in my size.

What should I do – rush straight there to buy them?

PS – they also exist in GOLD. Love! Look here:

Shopping : Funny Frames

So I haven’t started shopping whatsoever. I’ve been literally locked up in my house (okay, when I wasn’t not surfing up in Montauk) because of a huge influx of work and a hurricane. And believe me I would love to : New York Fashion week starts next week!!! HELP.

The only thing that’s got me so far, I saw just below my apartment (while I was on my daily hunt for coffee, my life is so exciting) in the window at Devonshire Optical, a local eye doctor who has some cool stuff. And so what I saw are his totally bizarre sunglasses. They’re Elizabeth & James, the other Olsen twins brand that you all introduced me to last time around.

Sunday in Brooklyn

It’s funny, last week we were talking about copies, counterfeits, and pieces inspired by, you remember?

And then Sunday, I went to the magnificent Brooklyn Flea Market (awesome / beautiful / for sure go check it out) with my friend Delphine to find some stuff for my house. They sure did have tons of stuff for the house, but tons of clothes as well.

How to…
Cook a Garance?

Grilled Garance is a recipe suitable for beginners. Easy enough! Just take a look at her in your ready to wear boutique, ready to go, smiling even, completely clueless of the fact that you’re about to cook her up with onions.

Ondine #3

The next time, between two waves of inspiration and four times “Whoooaaaaa your YSL bag is so amazing!!!” I asked her what her favorite places were in Paris. Seeing as I’m often asked for my favorites in Paris and for summaries of each, I’ve always got to have three good places handy so I thought it was time for me to ask some advice for some friends so we could share and everything. Then they’ll hate me forever for revealing their secrets.

Gimme ! Gimme ! Gimme !

Here’s a secret: if you want to make me live the vida loca right now: just say sequin and I’ll suddenly break out in a cold sweat and start chanting Waterloo be in the throngs of ecstasy that all of you most certainly have experienced at least once in your life—mouth wide open, credit card swiped, soul for sale straight to the devil. Yep, but if you really have to do it, might as well have fun along the way.

I have everything: scarf, top and skirt. And might I add, a dress! A dress, my friends, that I found last weekend in Marseille (the friperies* in the province, unbelievable!) and makes me look like a Eurodance singer fashion icon. Yeah, yeah. I know. You want pictures, pix, photos, photographs, digital image, jpeg…of my dress.

Listen, I promise. From now on, garancedorefr inc. will commit to finding a solution to this thorny-prickly-tricky issue concerning the lack of personal images.

In the meantime, delivered fresh and fast to your screens is my strong liking for these shiny sequins. I think they’re cool and ideal for making a casual outfit look more sophisticated, much like what Jane’s wearing above. And most of all, sequins go well with sporty or army-inspired clothes, or even with boyfriend jeans..

Sequins and the rugged look are a lovely match.

Le rough and le shiny.

What the heck? Frenglish, huh? By the way, do you think we could ask the members of Abba why they dressed themselves in sequins they sang in English?

Voilà, voilà. Now you know how to drive me nuts. And before you serve me my coffee, I have to tell you that the leggings above came all the way from London’s Oxford Circus just for the sheer pleasure of tormenting my sequin-addict artificial heart.

I WANT. GIMME!

My soul to the devil? Yeah, okay. I’d never have imagined selling it to Topshop.

relax, don’t do it

Pfffffu, macho.

Tu me files ta CB ? Non ? Bon.

Doit-on être sexy ?

yse.jpg

I began my blog in June, 2006. I was an illustrator and growing frustrated – with the type of work I was getting, yes, but mostly frustrated because I wasn’t really connecting with the readers of the magazines I was working for. I wanted to do something a little more free, more spontaneous. I had ...
