It’s winter break!!! And for the break, I’ve put together a little selection of photos I’ve never published. You’ll get to see some pretty cool stuff I found. It’s never too late for a good photo!!!

Since, Yasmin has become a mama. She just had her first Christmas with her baby and I’m so happy for her…

I couldn’t leave London without going to visit my dear Yasmin, who we won’t see at the shows this year : She is 8 months pregnant, so she kind of deserves a break !

I met her in her neighborhood in Shoreditch, and I found her super happy, beautiful, super cool, full of projects and ideas.

In short: with her, pregnancy appears to be the easiest thing in the world.

For me it looks like the most complicated thing in the world, so I asked her a ton of questions and I thought it would be cool to share them here. I also asked you on Facebook and Twitter if you had any questions you wanted to ask her and how funny…

… We had exactly the same :

• Now that you’re pregnant, how has your perspective on style changed?

My perspective on style hasn’t changed but it has been nice to be a little more relaxed these past few months. Heels are out and I’m loving all my boyfriends shirts and T’s even more than I did before.  There’s a big element of letting go when your pregnant as you have no control over how your body changes, so its a bit like whatever works and anything goes!  I love the freedom in that.  I see dressing for pregnancy as quite liberating rather than restrictive.

• How have your yoga, eating and all-around health habits changed?

I have been doing pregnancy yoga and I’m more conscious of what I eat for sure (although I was before also) I do love the taste of coffee but know it make me speedy, imagine the effect is has on such a little thing.  Loads of greens and good oils like udo’s and fish oils for the baby’s brain and my overall well being. I’m getting regular pregnancy acupuncture and trying to sleep well leading up to birth, I figure the most rested i can be now the better before potential madness. There is a very good supplement called Zeolite which detoxify’s your body during pregnancy, I’ve been told breast milk is the most toxic drink in the world as its basically all toxins in your body go to the baby, so obviously you want it to be as clean as possible. There’s also an incredible Ayurvedic paste called Amrit Kalash which is one of the strongest antioxidants in the world, I’ve taken this daily and felt so well the entire 8 months.  In saying all this though,  since I’ve been pregnant I’m consuming an abnormal amount of carrot cake and two chocolate bars daily……

• How do you prepare to balance your work life with being a mom?

I’m sort of hoping its going to work out.   My family are all in Australia and my boyfriends also so we won’t have grandparents around long term, which is unfortunate. Having our own business has its advantages in the sense that i don’t take official time off but can work meetings around my own schedule at the beginning and alot of what I do is about making a decision or direction which doesn’t always have to be time consuming. We do also share a large office space and may even stick a creche in there, I’m lucky to have an incredible team working with me. I’m now planning New York fashion week for FW12 with a nanny and I’ll be renting an apartment in Paris for fashion week rather than a hotel so I can take baby and nanny with me.  Time to really show off my multitasking skills

Both of us, telling ourselves, “Oh man, we’re so good for finding the perfect placement for the air bubbles!!!” Ha!

Yasmin, one of the coolest girls on earth, am I right? While I was in London this past trip, I made a stop at her place to take some photos for Vogue.com.

I spent a long and magic afternoon there talking about fashion, trips, spirituality (you really have to read the article in British Elle where Yasmin talked about her spirtual life)(You want me to scan it in for you?) all while devouring a bowl of hummus.

To me, Yasmin is a true model of a woman, independent, creative, spirtual, beautiful, funny and happy, and at the end of this Une fille, Un Style, she might even let out the secret of her amazing hair-cut…

Welcome to London, center of the tropics. Get out the fans. It is splendid outside. SPLENDID!

Yep, splendid weather. Especially for everyone else.* Because I spent all day inside my exhibition space, where I spend most of my days sketching on the walls and drinking lattes. The rest of the time, I’m talking about the balance of colors* with Bob, my printer. And then sometimes, I sneak off to go see my friends and have a coffee.**

Yesterday, I gave myself an hour to go see Yasmin. I simply loved her outfit, her awesome accessories (The sunglasses! The surfboard around her neck! The Bracelets! The to-die-for Acne heels!) I don’t know how she’s able to stay so completely herself and so completely fashionable all while being so completely against the grain. I just don’t know! I don’t know. But then, I thought about it,*** and it has to be something celestial. And then I remembered this photo…

So. Are the planets aligned here or what?

So in short, we laughed, talked about a whole bunch of stuff, and then back I went to go draw on my walls.

I told myself*** that what’s awesome when it’s nice out is that even if you can’t go sit outside at a café, the sun really changes things, the ambient energy and the outlook of everyone, you even feel it inside through the windows.

Stepping up on my ladder with my colored pencils in hand, I saw my drawing begin to take form, little by little** ****. I put on some music and sang Phoenix en yaourt***** for hours and hours. I didn’t even see night fall.

Ah la la, beautiful moments…

I see more and more girls letting their hair go naturally curly.

Aaaah. I love it.

As for me, it took me some time to understand that I had absolutely none of the necessary discipline to straighten my hair everyday. I would forget this little detail every time I went to get my haircut. I’d ask for whatever cut was supposed to make me into you know, Garance, the girl with the dreamy hair, with whatever photo of straight hair in hand, straight to the point that would stupify Vic Beckham. After three days, of course, it looked terrible and I would have to wait for it to grow out while my friends sat there giggling.

Then I met Giovanna, Yasmin, Valentina, Nejma… And Carrie Bradshaw, of course (You know it!) ! I started thinking letting your hair go natural was a pretty darn cool idea. I’d straighten it occasionally, just for fun, if and when I had a little extra time.

So there, for a year now, my hair has been completely natural. I’m like the cool girl who accepts herself for who she is.  You know, Garance, the girl who is comfortable in her own skin? Yes, oh!  That’s me!

I’m so so so proud of myself.

Then why I am suddenly taken over by envy for some super beautiful color when I know that NEVER would I have the necessary discipline to go to the hairdresser regularly and so quickly I would become Garance, I’m sure you’ve seen her, the girl with 3 inch roots! Why!?

11.  It’s no use, I am no party girl.  When I party, I party too hard, but most of the time, I come back home early and make myself a rum toddy.  Oh yeah, am I cool or what?

12.  I want to learn how to do up my hair in a whole bunch of different ways.  I want to be able to stylize my own hair.

13.  Suzy Menkes is the most incredible person for her passion for fashion and her passion for her job.  Suzy Menkes is amazing and will work on her laptop between shows, in her car, on the steps of a building… in the middle of the street.  I wanted to sit next to her and bathe in the sun of her science, but i wouldn’t dare.

14.  My credit card doesn’t work at Urban Outfitters.  Everywhere else, yes.  But not at Urban Outfitters.

15.  I’m having lunch with Yasmin and she says to me that she is no party girl.  Suddenly, I feel a lot cooler with my rum toddy.

16.  I run into Vanessa at Dover Street Market in a room full of the most sublime shoes, each pair more so than the one before, and she is holding on tight to a gorgeous vase from the 30′s.    It’s enough to make you want to buy some furniture.  Then I think back to my apartment and I’ll raincheck the idea for now.

17.  Today, I’m on my way to LIberty.  And to V&A.  And to Urban Outfitters.  Yep, bringing some cash.  And I’m going to Twenty8Twelve.  I’m going to Feathers.  On my way to Topshop.  I’m heading over to…  Wait, no…  Today, I’m leaving.  Crap.

18.  People wear a lot of black.  This bugs the hell out of me.  But often enough, my camera makes a stand, and I’m totally in.

19.  I’m wanting some lace.   I see some in the Dover Street basement.  I swoon, look at the price, and quickly faint.  950£. Crap!

20.  This is going to be the last fur-hat post of the year on this blog.  Fur-hat, I love you, but i mean c’mon with this cold.  Allez.  Goodbye Winter!  Goodbye Cupcakes!  Goodbye London!
