But there is a definite trick to wearing mules. I have a pair I just started wearing again, and my advice to you is to go for something with height and not too much of an open toe. A slight lift, a little heel, if you will.

That way your foot always slides forward and there is less chance of throwing the shoe ahead of you on your next step, leaving you to take one bare foot step and/or a little jump to reach your lone slipper. It also eliminates that toe crunch. You know, gripping the end of your shoe with your toes to keep it on….
